Nominees for the “The ASRF Book Award” must meet the following requirements:
1. Eligibility: Must be members or non-members of the African Studies and Research Forum.
2. Evidence of Publications: Nominees will be evaluated on the basis of their publication record for the academic year under review. The publication record shall consist of a book or monograph published by a reputable publisher in print for the year under review.
The Nomination Process: Members of the African Studies and Research Forum (ASRF) may either nominate themselves or non-members for the award.
The Selection of the Recipient or Recipients: After reviewing the nominations for the award, a Committee appointed by the ASRF’s Standing Committee on Awards will choose the recipient on the basis of the book or monograph’s contributions to scholarship on Africa using indicators such as originality, significance or impact of research and scholarship. Thereafter, the list of the recipient or recipients shall be submitted to the President of the ASRF.
