ASRF 2019-2020 AWARDS: CALL FOR NOMINATIONS

24th Annual Conference at the University of Cape Coast, March 26-28, 2020

ASRF is seeking nominations for its annual awards in the following categories-

  • Excellence in Research
  • The Humanitarian Award; and
  • Excellence in Artistry and Performance Award.

All ASRF members may nominate outstanding candidates. Preference in evaluating nominations will go to candidates with strong record of accomplishments in the applicable award category, those who have made substantive contributions to ASRF, create synergies with colleagues in the diaspora, and those whose works address ASRF strategic priorities, mission and goals. Candidates must be current members of ASRF in good standing.

The Nomination Process

  1. ASRF members will identify and nominate interested candidates and make preliminary, informal contact with the candidate to assess their interest before submitting the nomination (ASRF is an equal opportunity/affirmative action organization that values diversity across the diaspora and disciplines). Searches for qualified individuals to nominate should include colleagues from across the diaspora and disciplines.
  2. The review of nominations will be performed by ASRF Standing Committee on Awards convened by the Chair.
  3. The list of the recipients of the various awards will be forwarded to the President of the ASRF for the preparation of the plaques.
  4. The awards will be announced at the ASRF’s 24th Annual Conference at the University of Cape Coast, Ghana, March 26-28, 2020.

Please submit all nominations to Dr. Doyin Coker-Kolo, Chair of the Standing Committee on Awards at doyinck@gmail.com by February 18, 2020 following the templates below.
